50k-Have completed numerous 50K's over the years; mile for mile, Baldy Peaks 50K is probably the toughest.
50mi-Have completed numerous 50 milers over the years; the beauty of these races is that each one leaves some lasting impression with you. How many of us recall those races run in inclement weather? My fastest 50 was the PCT, 8:14.
100km-Wish there were more of these. Used to love to do Are You Tough Enough in the Santa Barbara area.
100mi-I have been fortunate enough to run in many 100's. The fastest for me was Vermont, in 23 hours. Angeles Crest is the toughest for me and I have finished it in 29 and 32 hours. Leadville is beautiful and awe inspiring - 27:28.
100mi+-Did my first this past year here at Badwater. My goal of finishing with honor was realized; at 57:58 I successfully completed this rigorous challenge. I want to do it again!
Previous Badwater Racing: 2000 Badwater: Finisher at 57:58. This was a wonderful experience for me and for my crew. Armed with some course experience now I want to do it again.

Best Ultra Run Experience:
Badwater 2000 was a seminal race; years of experience melded with an earnest crew made the experience delightful.
Badwater 2000 - just organizing gear, crew, and myself was challenging.
The continual opportunity to get inside and see what makes me tick as well as the chance to be out in the great outdoors.
It is "the grail" of our sport. I am a seeker of things magical and mystical.
