100km-None

100mi-2 Western States 100-Mile Finishes
2 Leadville 100-Mile Finishes

100mi+-I have participated in 24-hour, 48-hour, and 6-day events as well as the 500 Kilometer Race Across Colorado in the past 13 years. In addition, I have completed 11 100+ mile adventures in Death Valley since 1994 (see below).

Previous Badwater Racing: I have 7 Consecutive Official Finishes of the Badwater Event: 1994; 1995; 1996; 1996; 1997; 1998; 1999; & 2000.

I have summited Mount Whitney to complete the 'Lowest to Highest' Challenge in each of those finishes: 1994; 1995; 1996; 1997; 1998; 1999; & 2000.

I was the first competitor to reach Mount Whitney Summit in the 1995 event.

I have completed 11 full crossings from Badwater to the summit of Mount Whitney, or the reverse, since 1994.

I hold the record for the most full crossings from Badwater to Mount Whitney Summit (11); the most consecutive finishes of the event (7); the only Triple Crossing (1994); and the only athlete to have done 4 full crossings in a single July-August window (1994).

Previous Badwater Crewing: I have assisted and accompanied Marshall Ulrich on 3 adventures in Death Valley.

Previous Badwater Clinic I have attended 2 of the clinics.

Best Ultra Run Experience:

Being in Death Valley on each of my 11 crossings.

Weird Experience:

I no longer find ultrarunning weird. It is the calm in the storm.

Challenge:

Completing multiple crossing of Death Valley in 1994 and 2000 with minimal support and primarily solo. Proceeding alone across the Death Valley expanse adds an additional layer of discomfort and fear that one does not experience with crew.

Why:

For the challenge.

Why badwater:

For the challenge.

Other Exp.:

I have participated in ultramarathon cycling up to the distance of 200 miles in the Rocky Mountains. I have completed multi-day solo journeys both on trail and off-trail in the Grand Canyon.

Media:

I publish my yearly race report and photos to several web sites to include www.mwrunning.com and www.coachweber.com among others.
