Badwater Prediction:

A 45 hr. finish. In a 48 hr. race in perfect weather, pace was 3.42 miles/hr. At that rate Badwater would take 40 hrs. Due to the hills and heat an additional 5 hrs. But, too many things can go wrong.

Weird Experience:

35 miles into the Croom Trail, it was shocking how quickly energy drained away.

Challenge:

Keeping on the go the last 10 hrs. of Ultracentric 48 Hour Run, when one ankle was swollen, painful and red.

Why:

1) An ordinary guy who wants to be with extraordinary people.
2) Want to explore my limits.
3) Going through mid life crisis. So it's cheaper than a red sports car and a young blond.

Why badwater:

Want to be part of the greatest, toughtest race on earth. Hope to help as many people as possible back home.

May 1999, after warming up by going down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, two days later I did a double crossing unaided (44 miles, 10,000') in 14 hrs
