Badwater Prediction:

Between 40 and 50 hours. Based on my 27 hour finish time at Umstead, I think I can accomplish finishing Badwater in 40-50 hours.

Weird Experience:

Hallucinations experienced during Badwater 2001 and Desert Cup 2001 due to sleep deprivation. Saw people floating over canyons, saw skiers in the desert, thought a garbage bag was a person stalking me.

Challenge:

The Marathon des Sables. This 7-day event covers extreme temperatures and terrain. Food and water are rationed and sleep is difficult given the conditions.

Why:

To see if I can. I have never failed to finish a race I began...I don't intend for Badwater to break that streak.

Why badwater:

It seems like the ultimate ultra.

Other Exp.:

I have been doing triathlons the past three years. The longest I completed was a half-ironman in 2000 where I placed 3rd in my age category.
