My Badwater Finishing Prediction:

Under 40 hours. based on my 2002 time of 43 and knowing how to save several hours without being in better shape. Specifically, I didn't take in extra calories on the climb up Townes pass, I should have stuck with shoes that didn't slip on uphills, Cool and Fit really helps with leg soreness. I did learn during the race though. I had plenty of energy on the way up to Whitney Portals.

My Weirdest Experience:

The little hallucinations on the second evening last year - grade school graffiti on the white line, the white line floating above the pavement, the asphalt looking like a reflecting medium, mats of plants next to the road

My Most Challenging Race Experience:

Still Angeles Crest in 2000 when I got a groin strain at 52 miles and then couldn't bend my knee at 80 miles.

Why I Run Ultras:

To push myself. So I don't feel like a wimp compared to my wife and daughters.

Why I want a slot on the start line of the 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon:

To improve on my 2002 race.
