My Badwater Finishing Prediction:

BETWEEN 40 AND 50 HRS. I HAVE PROVED WITH THE GRAND UNION CANAL RACE THAT I CAN COVER 145 MILES IN 40HRS, BUT CONSIDERING THE TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS, I COULD EXPECT A SIMILAR TIME FOR 135, OR A LITTLE SLOWER.

My Weirdest Experience:

STRUGGLING ON MY OWN OVER A MOUNTAIN RANGE IN JORDAN AFTER 30HRS OF RUNNING FEELING TIRED AND LOW, ONLY TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SINGING FRENCH RUNNER WHO HELPED LIFT MY SPIRITS AS WE PUSHED ON TO THE FINISH.

My Most Challenging Race Experience:

THE GRAND UNION CANAL 145 MILE RACE HAS TO BE MY GREATEST CHALLENGE BECAUSE OF THE SHEER NON STOP DISTANCE AND CUTOFF TIME OF 45HRS. 12 PEOPLE FINISHED OUT OF 50 STARTERS. I CAME 8TH.

WhyI Run Ultras:

I ENJOY TESTING THE LIMITS OF MY BODY AND MIND. I LOVE THE CAMARADERIE. THE CHALLENGE MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING AND IM AMAZED AT THE POTENTIAL THAT CAN UNLOCKED FROM THE HUMAN BODY. I HAVE ALSO FOUND THAT I CAN COMBINE MY ENJOYMENT OF ULTRARUNNING WITH RAISING VITAL FUNDS FOR CHARITIES.

Why I want a slot on the start line of the 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon:

BADWATER IS A LEGENDARY EVENT IN THE ULTRA WORLD. I BELEIVE THAT MY RUNNING PORTFOLLIO WOULD NEVER BE COMPLETE WITHOUT BADWATER. ITS THE ICING ON THE CAKE. THE UNCERTAINTY OF SUCH A NON STOP DISTANCE COMBINED WITH THE HOTTEST PLACE ON EARTH IS SURLEY THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE! AS WELL AS THE OPPORTUNITY TO AGAIN RAISE MUCH NEEDED SPONSOR MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH.

The Charity that I will represent and raise funds for is:

I INTEND TO RUN FOR THE ROY CASTLE LUNG CANCER CHARITY. I HAVE DECIDED TO CHOOSE THIS CHARITY BECAUSE MY BEST FRIENDS FATHER HAS AN INCURABLE FORM OF THE DISEASE AND HIS LIFE EXPECTANCY IS LIMITED. I WAS SHOCKED BY THIS AND DISCOVERED THAT I COULD HELP SIMILAR CASES BY RAISING FUNDS FOR THIS CHARITY. SEE WWW.ROYCASTLE.ORG
