My Badwater Finishing Prediction:

Under 40 hours. Since I have a vast curriculum of running different kinds of marathons, including several ultramarathons, I believe that I can finish this competition in under 40 hours, despite the extremely difficult route and 10h00 starting time (hot sun). It will no doubt be a great challenge for me ... but I love a new challenge!!

My Weirdest Experience:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My Most Challenging Race Experience:

Mount Everest Marathon (1999), because of the very demanding conditions: altitude, extremely difficult route, including rocks, snow, etc. I had to run across the Himalayas and often encountered very low temperatures.

Why I Run Ultras:

Because practicing sports, particularly ultraraces (mostly running and triathlon), is what I live for. It's my entire life!

Why I want a slot on the start line of the 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon:

Badwater is a very big challenge for an ultra-athlete, and it is a world-renowned race. Last year I was accepted to the race, but unfortunately was not able to compete, because I was hurt during another competition. So I still have the deep unfulfilled wish to be able to take part in this event and to see how I make out. If I am accepted again, I will put all my drive into this competition, and I think it will be an extremely important and decisive moment in my life.
