My Badwater Finishing Prediction:

Between 40 and 50 hours. For Vemont 2001 and GNC 2001 I was well trained and ran good solid races meeting my objectives which was a sub 24 hour at Vermont and under 11 hours at GNC. I expect to do similar training and to be prepared to do the event. I also plan to communicate with Badwater Vets to use their experience to help me prepare for the event. My goal is to come into the event as prepared as possible.

My Weirdest Experience:

West Highland Way Race, Scotland June 1999. This is not really wierd but is kind of neat. I had been running all day in a downpour crossing the Scottish Highlands on the West Highland Way Hiking Trail many times running through water 1-3 feet deep. The rain more or less stopped after about 15 hours only to be replace by very high winds as I crossed the Rannoch Moor. With sun setting and the rain disapating the beauty of the landscape was spectacular and is forever etched in my memory.

My Most Challenging Race Experience:

2000 Massanutten Trails 100 Miler. Very difficult course with lots of rocks, and steep climbs. The 2000 race was also very hot and humid with temps in the low 90s. I really had dip very deep into my bag of tricks to complete this one.

Why I want a slot on the start line of the 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon:

I have been fasinated by this event ever since I first hear about it 3 years ago and have been keying towards it ever since. My personnal circumstances allow me to compete this year.

My Other Ultrasport Experience:

I have done a little cycling, mostly on my own. In 1996 I cycled across Pennsylvania in 4 days to raise money for Hospice.
