My Badwater Finishing Prediction:

My goal is between 40-50 hours... I want to beat 48 hours... I was close last year... I was 6 hours ahead of last year until the ball of my foot had issues... Perhaps doing the PrimalQuest Adventure Race 7 days earlier was a bit over the top... My only race for July in 2003 will be the Badwater.

My Weirdest Experience:

Iditasport 130 in 2001... Racing at night from mile 90 to 105... running from the Yetna River into the Alaska Range... Absolutely pitch black, no moon, snowing like hell... having been on my feet for upteem hours and seeing all kinds of stuff moving in pink, yellow and green... On top of that the wolves were howling and seeing lots of other animals... or so I thought?

My Most Challenging Race Experience:

The 2001 Badwater Ultra was my most challenging ultrrunning experiece... as it was the hottest running temperature I have ever experienced coupled with the heat radiating from the road made it an absolute INFERNO... Running on the white line (which was amazingly cooler) mile after mile became a challenge, yet I was extemely pleased to finish this race... I really love this race and hope to participate in it for many years to come.

Why I Run Ultras:

I enjoy pushing myself, meeting other racers, the race experience, the terrain, the satisfaction of competing and finishing these races...

Why I want a slot on the start line of the 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon:

In 2001 I got the taste... In 2002 I was closer to my goal... I know with the experience gained in the last two years and my current training schedule... I will rach my goal... In addition, the race is an important part of my racing series for raising monies for my charity...
