Previous Badwater Racing Experience: I entered the Badwater Ultramarathon in 2000 and reached 65 miles but was unable to finish due to illness. I was diagnosed with Hepatitis A upon my return.

Previous Badwater Crewing Experience: I was a pacer for Lloyd Scott in 1998 and ran approximately 100 miles with him. This experience taught me how to cope in adverse conditions.

Previous Badwater Clinic Experience:

My Badwater Finishing Prediction:

Between 50 and 60 hours based on my time as a pacer with Lloyd Scott in '98 and my entry in 2000.

My Weirdest Experience:

80k Killer Day of Marathon des Sables in 1996 because the fatigue was glossed over by the camaraderie and support of fellow runners - the unity of man was incredible.

My Most Challenging Race Experience:

Death Valley in 2000 as I was competing against the elements and, at that point, an unknown illness

Why I Run Ultras:

Ultras and ultra endurance events for me are more mentallly challenging than physically challenging.

Why I want a slot on the start line of the 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon:

Having crewed in 1998 and attempted it in 2000 I now want to nail it!

The Charity that I will represent and raise funds for is:

The Strive Foundation which I founded 4 years ago to help people from all walks of life to overcome and re-establish their lives through undertaking a scheme or project. In addition to assisting them it will also act as an inspiration to others suffering from similar circumstances. The $1million I raised in the Marathon des Sables helped change peoples' lives and I would like to do the same again.
