Founded by John Marino in 1983 and known as “The Toughest 48 hours in Sport” and just simply “The 508,” Silver State 508 is the world’s premier 48-hour ultra cycling race. This 508-mile bicycle race is revered the world over for its epic mountain climbs, stark desert scenery, desolate roads, and its reputation as one of the toughest but most gratifying endurance challenges available, bar none. Solo, two-person relay, and four-person relay divisions are offered.

Note: AdventureCORPS produced this event as Furnace Creek 508 from 1990 through 2013, and then as Silver State 508 from 2014 through 2016. In 2017, AdventureCORPS turned the event over to the very capable hands of Robert and Jo Panzera of CCSD. AdventureCORPS’ Chris Kostman will remain involved with the event in a promotional and advisory capacity, and those athletes who complete both Silver State 508 and Badwater 135 in the same calendar year will continue to receive special recognition.
